Dog Training Services

The key to training any dog is to understand the cause of his behavior. By rewarding good behavior and providing consistent consequences for the bad, you can shape your rascally pup into an obedient companion that you can take everywhere you go!

Board & Train

We know many of our clients have busy lives. So to make things easier for you, Everywhere Dog offers Board & Train services. Either way, we are here to help you build a better relationship with your dog, regardless of your hectic schedule.

FAQ

We use all sorts of tools including food, pet cots, slip leads, prong collars, e-collars, whistles, Pet Convincer, longlines of various sizes, toys, and a myriad of real world distractions. All dogs respond differently to different approaches, so we keep our toolbox filled to ensure that we can meet each dog where they are to help them succeed!

Balanced training is a method of dog training that uses both rewards and consequences to communicate what behavior is acceptable, encouraged, and unacceptable.

Everywhere Dog doesn’t guarantee results as training outcomes rely heavily on the consistency and dedication of training by the family. Everywhere Dog does guarantee that we will do everything we can to leave every customer as satisfied as possible. As long as you are putting in the work, we will be there to help you every step of the way! Our clients are our reputation and we want nothing more than to see them succeed!!

A prong collar is the most effective way for an owner to communicate to their dog using a leash. It allows you to guide your dog using very gentle leash direction, which is not possible with a regular collar or harness. Contrary to popular belief, prong collars are one of the safest collars on the market as they evenly disperse pressure and prevent tracheal damage that is common with choke chains & flat buckle collars and the shoulder/back strain that can occur when a pulling dog is wearing a harness. 95% of our clients are prong collar trained and the gentle, effortless guidance communicated from human to dog is unparalleled with any other type of training. Hop on over to our Facebook page to see it in action!

E-collars are an amazing tool that allow for gentle communication between owner and dog at an extreme distance. While this is useful when off-leash outdoors, it also can be very useful while in the home or yard. If you’ve ever had a dog that counter-surfed, cried all night in the crate, or treated your house like a dog park, you know how important quick reactions to those behaviors are to extinguishing a behavior. While some training tools elevate a dog’s state of mind, E-collars are incredibly effective for calming a dog who suffers from nervous behavior and anxiety of all kinds.

If used properly, an E-collar or prong will not scare or upset your dog. Your dog will change, but only for the better. Your goofy, silly, happy-go lucky dog will become a goofy dog that comes when called! Some dogs will initially resist all training when they realize that bad behavior is no longer an option, and their owners will not give up until they have compliance. This is new for many, especially older dogs, but it doesn’t take long for them to learn the new ways!

Harnesses were invented to help dogs and horses & other animals pull carts. They attach to the strongest part of a dog’s body, giving them total power to lead you, rather than you leading them. Many owners find that harnesses stop dogs from gagging themselves when pulling, but we find that a better approach is to stop the dog from pulling, altogether! Harnesses may seem like the easiest option for your dog when choosing it’s walking accessories, but they allow for very little communication through the leash, which actually make your walk more difficult.

I am the right trainer for you if you are looking for permanent behavior change for your dog and are willing to take a team approach to make the appropriate lifestyle changes necessary to maintain training. Private sessions, walk and trains, and board and trains all require owners to work with Everywhere Dog and their pup to keep training consistent even after it ends. We can do amazing work with your dog, but unless the same standards are carried out at home when training ends, permanent behavior change will be difficult to achieve.

As a dog owner, there will be work on your part to get your pup where he needs to be. Everywhere Dog will be there to help you every step of the way, but it will be a team effort to be successful. Every minute you spend with your dog is a minute spent training. As long as you are consistent and are willing to make the changes conducive to good doggy behavior, the training process will be simple!

NO! “Are you sure?” YES!* If your dog is old enough to pull you down the street or act inappropriately in your home, it has enough energy to be successful at training. Older dogs are often more stubborn, as years of “non-training” have trained them that commands are optional, but typically once we show them that “sit means sit,” they forget that they spent years objecting. We frequently train dogs between the ages of 5-8 years old.

*at a certain age, when dog’s energy levels decrease, their health begins to decline, and training could cause more stress than good, we do not recommend a training program. HOWEVER, there are always changes that you can make within your household that will enhance your relationship with your dog and help adjust their behavior. Reach out to us if you are in this situation and we will happily offer you any guidance we can to allow you to enjoy your dog in his final years.

We do use positive reinforcement! We love positive reinforcement, but it is just one of many tools in our tool box. When a dog performs a behavior correctly or makes a good choice, they will always be rewarded in a way that is helpful for them. For some dogs, this involves food, for others it requires a whisper of “good boy” or a quick scratch on the head. In our training approach, neither good behaviors nor bad behaviors will be ignored.

No, after you finish our program your dog will not be qualified to enter establishments that are not dog friendly. Your dog will, however, be welcome in pet friendly stores and restaurants, large family gatherings, your kids outdoor sporting events, and much more! Our goal is to give you and your dog the proper training to behave properly (and calmly) in any situation, which will make them a joy to include in almost all aspects of your life!
